Katie Wise is a Boulder, Colorado conscious music artist fusing the sweetness of devotional mantra with folk rock and roots Americana. Heart-centered yogis who love to rock ‘n’ roll have been flocking to sing along with Katie and her band Bhakti Explosion, to get their bodies moving and spirits soaring.

Katie Wise + Bhakti Explosion have appeared at the biggest sacred music festivals in the US and internationally, such as Lovelight (MD), Unify (NM), Arise (CO), Folks Fest (CO), Hanuman Festival (CO), Bhakti Fest (CA), Shakti Fest (CA), Festival of Colors (UT), Stonehenge Music Festival (UK), and Holistic Manchester (UK). Bhakti Explosion currently includes band members: Yoshi Aono on guitar, John Hoelle on electric bass, JJ Jones on percussion, and lead vocalist Katie on guitar and keyboards. Their debut album, Lovolution, produced by Grammy-nominee Ben Leinbach and featuring guest vocals by Jai Uttal, has received acclaim in the US (Yoga Journal, Yoga International), UK (Kindred Spirit, Yoga Magazine) and Australia (Soul Traveller Radio, and Australian Yoga Life), and was named “best chant album of the year” by American promoter Lloyde Barde. To capture the magic of their live events, they released two live albums: Live at the Starhouse (2019), and Live at ETown (2021) from their electrified sold out show at Etown Hall.  Their second studio album is due out in 2022, and production has begun on a third studio album. The band continues to look for ways to serve the greater community through music, through livestreams during the pandemic, and benefit concerts like #BoulderStrong, Yoga Gives Back for India, and concert, where thousands of dollars were raised for the families of Boulder shooting victims families, better gun policy, Covid relief, and efforts to eradicate a rare children's disease.

David Newman calls Katie a "a solid force and presence for those who look to their music for peace, heart, groove, and spiritual inspiration.”   Australian Yoga life writes “Wise’s soulful, earthy voice embodies vulnerability in a way that turns emotion into art.”  Katie Wise + Bhakti Explosion are America's pioneers of mantra-rock music. Their music has the power to heal and inspire the world. More at

Praise for debut album "Lovolution"

Beautifully nuanced country and Americana influences, inflected with just the right amount of Eastern mysticism. Katie's vocals are exquisitely textured, simultaneously vulnerable and powerful. I'd be happy to sing with her anytime!

Dave Stringer

Katie Wise is a fresh and exciting new voice in the mantra music genre. She is destined to become a solid force for those who look to their music for peace, heart, groove, and spiritual inspiration.

David Newman

(sacred chant master, singer/songwriter, inspirational teacher)

You gotta love Katie Wise! She is one rockin' mantra music artist who is unabashedly and unapologetically herself.  Look out world, there is a Lovolution going on and it's coming to take you away!

(founder of Spirit Voyage Records and world devotional music pioneer)

Lovolution combines lovely melodies and instrumentation with a commercial voice you will want to listen to over and over!

Author, musician, teacher, sound healer

The music on Lovolution deftly weaves a rich array of contemporary grooves, world music flavors, and lush vocal arrangements while keeping the sacred heart of devotion alive through every song. Fans of both traditional and modern Kirtan music will find lots to enjoy here.

(celebrated yogi-musician and author of Music and Mantras)

"Lovolution" is one of the best sacred chant albums I've had the pleasure to hear in 18 years of doing radio and playing great music. For those who truly wish to experience devotional heart music, this is the one.

Gary Goldberg

(host of WRPI’s “In The Spirit” radio show and “Gary’s Music Show”)

Congratulations on your work of profound beauty and power.  It's exquisite.  Very creative arrangements while remaining true to the origins. I have listened to it countless times, mostly through earbuds while gardening or doing artwork.  The Music is like nectar, working it's Magic. Thank You.
